JFreak's Thoughts On The Tribe

I'm and Indians fan just so ya'll know...
Ooch... The Kevin Kouzmanoff trade sure looks bad right now.Kouzmanoff for Josh Barfield... Barfield is hitting .262 with 37 RBI Kouzmanoff is hitting .219 with 33 Ribbes. Player for Player it was a good trade, especially with "can't miss" Andy Marte waiting to take over at third base. But now thinking back, we had so many other players that the Padres would have accepted. Hey! Come to think of it, Ronnie Belliard is hitting .299 with 18 RBI in Washington. Second and third base combos... Kouzmanoff and Belliard or Barfield and Blake? Well the combo of Belliard and Kouzmanoff would be hitting .259 with 51 RBIs and 10 Home Runs. Barfield and Blake get you .271 with 78 RBI and 13 HR. Hmmm How about Belliard and Blake??? .286 with 59 RBI and 14 HR ... Intruiging. Then you have Kouzmanoff as a backup 3B or even... A corner outfielder? I think BARF is a good thing for the tribe this year(although if I had my choice between him and Belliard... I don't know, but it would at least make me think), so i really can't complain. But if we'd found another prospect to trade then we would have Kouz at third, BARF at second, and Casey in the outfield. That might have worked.I must admit that I thought Andy Marte was going to do well, and he didn't hit all that well, and his defense smells like the lunch that I left in my locker all year. We have big third base problems, but hey, Wes Hodges at Kinston is hitting .395.
Whooo is Fausto good. I called it. I've met him plenty of times, and I knew that he was a winner. 8-4 with a 3.92 ERA you gotta love it. He just looks comfortable out on the mound. We know that hes gonna give us a chance to win nite in and nite out. He is gonna be a big major league starter. Hopefully he is going to be the best number two starter with us for a long time. I am really impressed with him this year. It's great that he got his confidence back after last year(we'll let that go buddy.) Fausto Rocks.
The offense is looking great. C.C. is on fire (all star starter?... we'll find out tonight!) I have to say I am impressed. When he goes out to pitch... you feel like you have a win in the bag. Hey CC, Fausto, Victor, Betancourt, and Pronk are all making a case for the All Star game. We're looking good and I can pretty much assure you a playoff bearth, but honestly I think the Indians are going to need a little more down the stretch. A corner outfielder is really the only option. Pat Burrell???? I don't have an answer but I like this lineup for now: Catcher-Victor Third- Casey Short- Jhonny (lead legs) Second- Barfield First-GARK DH- Pronk Right- Gutierrez Center- Grady Left- Ben Fransisco What Do You Think?? leave a comment. But all of US out there just have to be happy that It's July and we have a winning record, and more importantly we sit in our rightful place atop the AL central.
